“We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves happy. The amount of work is the same.”
– Carlos Castaneda

Last week my ankle blew up like a balloon for no apparent reason. I ignored it, figuring it would work itself out. When 36 hours later it was still swollen and painful, I schlepped my four youngest chickens into the emergency room with me after I taught a double at Prana Newton. Philippe was teaching while we went on our adventure.

We had planned to play tennis and then go to Crystal Lake after I taught, but instead found ourselves in the emergency room having an emergency room picnic consisting of apple juice, grape juice, orange juice, gram crackers, saltines, turkey sandwich with mayo, yogurt, and applesauce. Watching the Smurfs movie. Best ever!

I asked my kids how they were doing and explained to them that we could either be happy and have fun –or be miserable. We had a choice.

Phoenix, age 8, replied, “I kind a like this better than Crystal Lake.”

(P.S. My x-ray lab technician’s name was, drumroll please, Cherish. And her middle name? Love).

Have the best day ever!

Namaste!
